How your Kua Card is calculated

Destiny Kua works out real calendar values first and only then turns them into plain-English advice:

  • Your zodiac and year pillar from your birth year, changing at Li Chun (about 4 February), not Chinese New Year.
  • Your Day Master, the stem of your birth day in the 60-day cycle. What is a Day Master?
  • Your Kua Number using the Eight Mansions formula, with four lucky and four unlucky directions. About Kua Numbers
  • Today's pillar, its clashing animal and Sha direction, as printed in a Tong Shu almanac.
  • Today's element compared with your Day Master through the five-element cycles, which sets your colours and your do and avoid.
