What hexagram 9 means
Xiǎo Chù is the wind driving across the sky: clouds gather but no rain falls yet. Small forces are restraining something stronger. You can't achieve the big goal right now, but you can refine the details, build gradually and let gentle influence do its work.

The two trigrams
The lower trigram, Heaven 乾 (Qián), stands for your inner state and the root of the situation. The upper trigram, Wind 巽 (Xùn), stands for the outer circumstances. In element terms this is Wood over Metal. Heaven is the trigram of Kua 6 and Wind is the trigram of Kua 4.
