Hexagram 58 doubles the Lake trigram: two solid lines beneath a broken one. Two lakes lie side by side and refresh each other. Duì is about joy, conversation and the pleasure of sharing with others.

Lakes resting one upon another. The commentary says the wise person joins with friends for discussion and practice. Learning is joyful when it is shared.
What hexagram 58 means
Receiving Duì points to a time of good spirits, friendly exchange and persuasion through warmth. The traditional text says joy brings success, as long as it stays true. Real joy is sincere and steady inside, gentle outside. Joy that depends on flattery or indulgence doesn't last.
